At the far north of Serbia, in the near vicinity of state border with the Republic of Hungary, there is the Palic Lake, at the height of 102 m above sea level.

For its high environmental values and natural characteristics, the Palic Lake is considered a protected area and a Park of Nature.
The entire coast of the Lake is well arranged and it is some 17 km long. The coast is very attractive for its walking paths, bicycle riding or coach driving paths. The lake is abundant with fishes and this gives to the fishing lovers' ample opportunities for an active holiday.
The guests have at their disposal fields for soccer, basketball and volleyball, tennis courts, open-air and indoor swimming pools, bowling alleys, Zoo Park and riding horses.
The visitors can entertain themselves with rowing and sailing, and in the winter with ice skating on the frozen lake, as well as with hunting in the Spa surroundings. In the near vicinity of the Palic Lake there is Ludas Lake, which represents a natural resort.

Mineral water springs have a temperature of 25 degrees Centigrade, and mud of the lake is rich with very important mineral substances with curative characteristics. That is the reason why the Palic Lake is considered a spa resort.

Area Information
At the turn of the 20th century, the tourist centre of Palic, with its 7 km² lake, was a popular and elite resort. Although ever changing, improving and modernising, Palic has managed to avoid industrialisation.

The crescent shaped lake is of Aeolic origin and lies eastwards from Subotica in the lowlands. Today, the area - the lakes, the habitats, the park and the zoo - is under protection in order to preserve its ecosystems.
It is still vibrant and exciting and known for its summer stage, where the International Film Festival is held every summer, summer trip festival, ethno festival, etc.
Directions:
Palic is situated in the north of Serbia, 7 km from Subotica and 20 km from the Hungarian border. It is also half way between Budapest and Belgrade; 200 km from both cities.
You can reach Palic along the E-5 motorway, Belgrade - Novi Sad - Subotica - Budapest, or by international railway to Subotica, then by local transport to Palic.
